Delivering Bad News to Patients

by Assist. Prof. Dr. Bianca Hanganu

Delivering bad news to patients is one of the most often encountered practices a physician must perform during their entire career. At the same time, it is one of the most difficult tasks.
The good news, however, is that the skills for delivering bad news are not innate – meaning physicians can learn them. This process of learning should start in the faculty and be updated throughout the career.
Whether you’re looking for a starting point to acquire these skills or are looking to brush up on your knowledge, this session is the perfect opportunity. You don’t want to miss it!

What do we need to know about the recipient & donor before a liver transplant?

Imaging aspects & their implications in preoperative management of the patients by Dr. Corina Lupascu Ursulescu

Liver transplant surgery carries a risk of significant complications. There are numerous risks associated with the procedure itself, as well as with the drugs necessary to prevent rejection of the donor liver after the transplant.
However, a meticulous preoperative evaluation can decrease the frequency of postoperative complications – and, in order to minimize the risks, both the patient and the donor must be evaluated.
Similarly, imaging also plays an important role in detecting presurgical conditions and postsurgical complications.
But what exactly are we looking for?
What do we need to know?
We invite you to find the answers in this online training session.
