Esophago-gastro-duodenoscopy (EGD) is a medical procedure used to visualize the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract, including the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum.
It is estimated that millions of EGDs are performed globally each year, with a low incidence of complications, approximately 1%.
This procedure serves as a diagnostic, therapeutic, and screening tool for various pathologies such as ulcers, gastritis, esophagitis, polyps, strictures, tumors, bleeding, and inflammation.
Our participants joined us on Friday, March 22nd to delve deeper into the indications, limitations, complications, and interpretation of this procedure.
